Shaft Comparison: Eben Kella vs. Aretera

After testing nearly every premium shaft on the market, it’s rare to find one that truly changes the game. Most shafts tend to perform within the same ballpark for me — consistent, predictable, but not revolutionary. That’s why the Eben Kella 6X immediately stood out. From the first swing, it felt like it had its own personality, combining power, stability, and fluidity in a way few shafts do.

Here’s what I observed in a direct head-to-head comparison with the Aretera 65X:

Clubhead Speed: +2 mph gain with the Eben Kella

Carry Distance: +8 yards — noticeable in both practice and on-course performance

Dispersion: Significantly tighter. I tend to overhook the ball, but with the Eben Kella, I didn’t miss left once during testing

Launch & Spin: Both improved, resulting in a higher, more controlled trajectory and better overall ball flight

Length: .25” shorter than my previous setup, yet I still maintained (and even increased) clubhead speed through impact

Feel & Smoothness: Smoother transition, stable through impact, with a unique “effortless” swing sensation

At clubhead speeds of 128–132.5 mph, the Eben Kella 6X delivered unmatched consistency and control. Each shot felt deliberate yet powerful, and the feedback through the hands was precise without being harsh. Unlike other premium shafts that feel one-dimensional — either “stiff and powerful” or “smooth but soft” — the Eben Kella strikes a perfect balance.

What really impressed me: while I’ve swung dozens of high-end shafts, the Eben Kella provided noticeably better dispersion, improved carry, and a more controlled launch, all without any sacrifice in feel or responsiveness. In short, it’s a shaft that not only performs but inspires confidence every swing.

Hands down, the best feeling shaft I have ever swung.
